Job Description Job Description About The Role AVP Solutions is
a Canoga Park, CA–based high-risk merchant services provider
looking for an organized, energetic Risk Analyst to join our
merchant services team. In this role you’ll monitor merchant
activity, help prevent fraud and chargebacks, and support reserve
management while working closely with merchants, issuing banks, and
internal teams. What You’ll Do Monitor merchant credit card sales
and daily account activity for signs of fraud, potential loss, and
chargeback exposure. Review transaction exceptions against approved
account parameters and company procedures, completing
investigations within required timeframes. Manage and track
merchant reserves, coordinating reserve releases when criteria are
met. Correspond with merchants, banks, and consumers by phone and
email to verify transactions and resolve risk issues. Use multiple
system interfaces to gather and analyze merchant data for
investigations and reporting. Escalate and document significant
risk events and assist management with projects and remediation
plans. Contribute to process improvements to strengthen fraud
prevention and chargeback mitigation. Who You Are At least 1 year
of bankcard / merchant services industry experience with working
knowledge of Visa/MasterCard processing, regulations, and
chargeback rules. Prior experience as a Risk Analyst or in merchant
monitoring, with a demonstrated ability to detect and prevent
fraudulent activity. Comfortable reviewing merchant reserves and
coordinating releases in accordance with policy. Strong written and
oral communication skills and the ability to work independently
while managing multiple investigations. Proficient with MS Office,
particularly Word and Excel; familiarity with Pegasus, Accurint,
and Experian is a plus. Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to
navigate multiple internal systems to reconcile transaction data.
