Job Description Job Description We are looking for an
experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our team in
Gardena, California. This position is a vital role within the
accounting department, reporting directly to the Controller. This
is a contract-to-permanent opportunity, where the successful
candidate will manage essential accounting functions, including
general ledger maintenance, month-end close activities, and
financial reporting. If you have a strong background in nonprofit

insights, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities: • Prepare
and post month-end journal entries, including accruals,
prepayments, and deferred revenue transactions. • Manage accounts
receivable ledgers, record cash receipts, and reconcile monthly
balance sheet accounts. • Process payroll journal entries,
including semi-monthly payroll, monthly accruals, and tax-related
transactions. • Assist in preparing and reconciling monthly bank
statements. • Conduct analytical reviews to ensure the accuracy of
general ledger entries and balances. • Collaborate with external
auditors to prepare audit schedules and support the completion of
nonprofit information returns. • Handle monthly billing processes
for state grants and other funding sources. • Support the
Controller in creating financial statements, cost reports, and ad
hoc financial analyses. • Update and maintain fixed asset schedules
across the organization. • Generate budget utilization reports and
assist in preparing budget-to-actual analyses using agency
software.• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. • At least 2
years of experience in nonprofit accounting; familiarity with
government-funded programs is a plus. • Proficiency in General
Ledger and Grants Module accounting systems, as well as Financial
Edge software. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data
import/export and manipulation for reporting purposes. • Strong
understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general
ledger processes. • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards,
including A-133 and Federal Uniform Guidance. • Ability to manage
multiple priorities and meet deadlines with strong organizational
and analytical skills. • A collaborative and adaptable mindset with
a commitment to accuracy and excellence.
