What We Do
Leads security engineering efforts for Microsoft and Identity
Management platforms including cloud. This role will be central to
delivering strategic identity and access management solutions that
strengthen the security posture of First American and its global
partners. You will take ownership of the design, implementation,
and management of Microsoft solutions, including Workforce Identity
and B2B, and ensuring comprehensive identity and access management
(IAM) services across the organization.
How You'll Contribute
- Lead complex technical engineering discussions to create
solutions that drive innovation while ensuring secure deployment in
the cloud and other platforms.
- Collaborate with Operations, Governance, and Engineering teams
to ensure the secure development, deployment, and optimization of
access management services.
- Drive innovation, establish best practices, and influence the
future architecture of identity security while being hands-on in
developing solutions.
- Make recommendations on integration strategies, engineering
solutions, platforms, and application infrastructure to
successfully implement comprehensive solutions and optimize product
effectiveness.
- Build trusted advisory relationships with strategic customers
across the business and engage with Architects and senior
management to identify priorities and design strategies that
deliver business value.
- Perform market research on best-of-breed technologies and lead
the engineering team to develop successful
proof-of-concepts.
- Lead discussions with business partners to understand
opportunities and leverage technology to solve complex business
issues.
- Design, develop, and enhance technical architecture patterns
and frameworks for enterprise use.
- Work with customers, stakeholders, product managers, and
product owners to understand current and upcoming system
requirements.
- Understand and communicate nonfunctional requirements.
- Evaluate design alternatives and perform cost-benefit
analyses.
- Develop and maintain models and documentation describing system
functions and recommended models.
- Define and break down large architectural objectives into
smaller, incremental goals.
- Present the technological vision during planning, provide
domain models, and participate actively in planning
sessions.
- Champion change by assisting teams in making appropriate system
and component design decisions during implementation.
- Serve as a top-level technical expert in specialized phases of
applications programming.
- Research, design, write, test, and implement complex software
applications and systems.
- Provide practical approaches to overcoming technical and
procedural challenges.
- Lead Cloud Identity governance initiatives.
- Set technical direction affecting multiple groups/business
units.
- Mentor and instruct team members to enhance their
skills.
- Coordinate with other engineers to support upcoming user and
business needs.
- Engage with and influence senior management on technical
matters requiring cross-organization coordination.
- Provide technical consulting on complex projects.
- Perform duties outside normal hours based on business
needs.
What You'll Bring
Required Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years of related experience, including at least 10 years in
enterprise-level security engineering.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory,
Azure, AWS, OCI, GCP.
- Deep knowledge of authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth2,
etc.).
- Expertise in IAM lifecycle management, SSO, MFA, RBAC.
- Strong understanding of identity lifecycle management, access
control, and security policies.
- Experience with distributed teams preferred.
- Expertise in Cloud Security configurations and multi-tiered IAM
Cloud integrations.
- Designing identity-based security models for Cloud
platforms.
- Continuous learning and mentoring to enhance team
skills.
- Ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical
personnel.
- Strong presentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to devise procedures for complex problems considering
system limitations.
- Experience in program design, coding, testing, debugging, and
documentation.
- Full knowledge of all phases of Cloud Identity
relationships.
- Problem-solving skills, including researching and implementing
solutions.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
- Acts independently under broad direction.
- Proactive in issue identification and solution
implementation.
Salary Range: $166,750.00 - $222,325.00
This range is an estimate and pay depends on various factors
including knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
