Based in South Gate, California, the Payroll Administrator position is a long-term contract / temporary opportunity.Your responsibilities in this role- Resolve payroll discrepancies via information collection and analysis- Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines- Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments- Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes- Prepare for department heads relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports- Reconciling of employee deductions and other liabilities- Review source documents with necessary verification- Maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information confidential- Track payroll record changes by entering updates in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers- Providing payroll information by answering questions and requests- Other duties as assigned- Proper payroll information maintenance by collecting, calculating, and entering data- Provide help with all internal and external audits of payroll- Draft reports by organizing all summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
