Job Description Job Description The Opportunity We are seeking an enthusiastic, personable, and experienced IT Manager to lead firm-wide IT operations while providing advanced end-user support. This role is responsible for all aspects of IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and systems administration, while serving as the firm’s primary technology leader. The IT Manager will balance day-to-day support with strategic oversight , managing vendors, improving systems, and ensuring secure, scalable technology aligned with the firm’s growth. What You Will DoIT Operations & End-User Support Lead and manage all firm-wide IT operations, infrastructure, and support functions Resolve Level 1, Level 2, and advanced support cases related to end-user issues, infrastructure, and project-based tasks Provide hands-on support for attorneys and staff, including time-sensitive and VIP workstation issues Set clear expectations and communicate effectively with users throughout the troubleshooting process Troubleshoot and resolve issues including: Microsoft 365 / Outlook / Exchange Client/server connectivity File restores and backup requests Remote access (VPN, Citrix, Terminal Services) Password resets and Active Directory requests Networked printer and peripheral issues Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives Systems, Infrastructure & Platform Administration Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable IT systems Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate) Support Windows Server and Windows 10/11 environments Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and user access controls Administer legal document management and practice management platforms (e.g., NetDocuments, Clio) Support hybrid and cloud environments, including Exchange Online and on-prem systems Execute system maintenance including patching, upgrades, and critical updates Cybersecurity & Risk Management Own firm-wide cybersecurity strategy, including MFA, endpoint protection, backups, and disaster recovery Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements applicable to law firms Monitor system performance and proactively identify risks and vulnerabilities Manage data protection, incident response, and system hardening Vendor, Asset & Lifecycle Management Manage relationships with MSPs, vendors, and third-party technology providers Coordinate escalations, warranty service, and vendor support engagements Oversee device provisioning, configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management Maintain accurate IT inventory records for hardware, software, and licenses Manage technology budgets, renewals, and vendor performance Onboarding, Training & Leadership Lead technology-related onboarding and offboarding for employees Develop, document, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices Provide guidance, training, and technical leadership to attorneys and staff Serve as the firm’s primary point of accountability for technology decisions Who You Are A strong communicator who can translate technical information for non-technical users Customer-focused, service-oriented, and calm under pressure Organized, accountable, and capable of managing competing priorities Comfortable working hands-on while also owning strategy and outcomes Requirements Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience 5 years of progressive IT experience, including leadership or management responsibilities Strong experience with: Microsoft 365 (O365) Windows Server and Windows 10/11 Active Directory and Group Policy End-user hardware and desktop support Networking fundamentals and troubleshooting Backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity best practices Proven experience managing vendors, projects, and technology initiatives Excellent communication and customer service skills Preferred Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment Experience working with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) Familiarity with legal document and practice management systems (NetDocuments, Clio) Experience with VMware and/or Microsoft Azure Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments Compensation $100,000 – $130,000 per year , commensurate with experience.
