Job Description






SUMMARYRepairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment as well as production machines and equipment under minimal supervision by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. In performing functions, duties or tasks, employees are required to know and follow safe work practices, and to be aware of Company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable Company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of Company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.Disassembles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.Repairs or replaces defective parts in hydraulic equipment such as valves, motors, cylinders and pumps; conditioning equipment such as grinding and abrasive blast machines; mobile hydraulic equipment; and other plant equipment as designated by supervisor.Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.Lubricates and cleans parts.Starts devices to test their performance.Daily inspection and record keeping of various pieces of plant equipment.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience & Education






Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.








Required Skills






Knowledge of hydraulics, cylinders, pumps and alignments and good mechanical skills.
